Season 2012 is finally upon us. We're looking forward to seeing our 2011 players back on the pitch and welcoming new players to the club.

Bannockburn Clarke Road Football Club is a local community club. We cater for Minis and Juniors (U6 - U11), through Youth (U12 - U18) to Mens teams (All Age, O35, O45). We are also ready to field girls and womens teams at the first opportunity.  We aim to provide our players and their families with a positive team experience, growth in football skills and ultimately an increased enthusiasm for the great game.

BCRFC is not a big club and our objective is to provide quality training and game experience in a family atmosphere as we develop our young people in the skills and teamwork of football.  We pride ourselves on the fact that our members enjoy playing for the club and many have been with us since their first pair of boots.

Registration for Season 2012 is now open.

Registration for the new season is open and we encourage all players to register online now, via the links on this page. Early registration will assist us with the pre-season preparation, grading and team allocations.

As a way of thanking you for your early commitment to the club we have implemented a $15 / player discount on this year's fees. See details below.

For those unable to register online we will be running a registration day at Bannockburn oval/Pymble Scout Hut (weather dependent) on 5 February.

During this day you will also be able to purchase BCRFC shorts and socks for you or your child. Shirts will be handed out by the coaches / managers once the teams have been selected.

Once again we are looking for ladies interested in having a go at soccer.  We would really like to enter a team from BCRFC so please let us know if you are interested - no matter your age or skill level.  We have some interest but need around 16 players for a full team so please, even if you are not sure you can make it to every game or training session, we'd like to hear from you. It is a great way to keep fit and will truly make a difference in your appreciation and understanding of your child's game.

Minis Orientation day

There is no grading for U6s and U7s. As such we are holding an orientation day on Sunday 11 March for the latest recruits and youngest players in our club. The purpose of this 90 minute session is twofold:

  • Players will get the chance to experience a training session with our co-operative coaching staff. This helps them to feel comfortable taking instruction from the coaches when they start their regular weekly training sessions. It also gives them an understanding of what happens at training and what they will be required to do which all helps to quell those pre-season nerves. For those that have not played before it will act as an introduction to the small sided game format played within the Ku-ring-gai & District Soccer Association (KDSA).
  • Parents will get the chance to find out how our training sessions are run. You can meet the club staff and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We can explain how the training works, what is involved on match days and give you the opportunity to offer your services in helping to run your child's team or the club in general.

We will also take this opportunity to supply kit to any of our Minis who have already registered.

Juniors Grading days

Juniors grading follows a two – day structure.

On two separate Sundays (26 February and 4 March) the U8s - U11s participate in trials lasting 1 hour. Each age group will trial separately and the times of these blocks will be announced in due course.

Week 1 will assess ball skills and week 2 will focus solely on gameplay. We feel this is the best way to grade players on a level playing field and providing them every opportunity to trial at their best. We feel it is imperative to have a professional trial process which the club can guarantee to its members.

The trial process will be run by Kickstart, the organisation responsible for our co-operative coaching program. The system utilises coaches and parents from the club to act as selectors on the grading days although they will not be allowed to grade the age group their child is trialling for.  It is important to note that the system will grade the players not the individual assessor.  The Kickstart trial process is being utilised at a number of other association and representative clubs.

Training

Minis and Junior teams

Kickstart are our professional coaches of choice and the club will again be employing their services to run co-operative training sessions for our U6 - U11 teams. This program is fully subsidised by the club.

Training for the U6 - U11 teams will be on a Thursday this year. The club felt this would help the players transfer the knowledge they have learnt in training to the game itself.

Training times for the U6 - U11 teams have also changed slightly this year to allow more time between school and training without extending the finish time for the older age groups.

U6 - U716:30-17:30
U8 - U917.30-18.30
U10 - U1118.30-19.30

Note: No boots for pre-season training, joggers only.

Youth teams

Training night for our youth teams will be announced shortly.

Mens teams

Mens All Age, Over 35s and Over 45s teams will all be training on the same night this season, the day to be advised shortly.

Coaching clinics

Junior Players

Kickstart are offering a discount for BCRFC registered junior players and their friends on a 2 day (9am to 12pm) holiday clinic. These clinics run during the April and July holidays and the cost will be $85 per person instead of the usual $99. A minimum of 20 confirmed participants would be required.

Youth Players

We are once again running our very successful Central Coast Mariners pre-season youth clinic. Four expert Mariners coaches will get the player's skills honed in preparation for 2012 and help the youth coaches put their training programs into practice.

The clinic will run over 2 or 3 nights with dates and times to be publicised in due course.

Can You Help?

For any individuals interested in contributing to the smooth running of the club we encourage you to make contact with one of the committee members. Those who help with the running of the club receive a reduction in playing fees.

While we have filled most of the committee roles for this year we will be looking for parents to manage and coach teams.
