A beautiful evening greeted the first co-operative training session of 2015. There was a great vibe at Bannockburn Oval, with many enthusiastic U6s right up to seasoned U11s. And in a first, tasty sausage sandwiches were available on the Club's BBQ, making dinner time that little bit easier. Luiz from Soccer Kickstart has expanded the number of coaches on the field, and each activity was clearly numbered to assist teams find the next station.
The first game of Season 2015 is scheduled for April 18. Luckily for us, Luiz and his team at Soccer KickStart have a series of holiday clinics to suit all ages and all abilities. Look out for the flyer.
Club sponsor TriForce Sports is holding a week long sale where members receive 20% off all full priced items, excluding cricket balls and not in conjunction with any other offer. Make sure you mention BANNOCKBURN at the register.
Kickstart is offering BCRFC a pre-Season In-service for coaches, managers and parents at no cost to you.
This is a must for every coach, prospective coach and interested parent. You will be provided with instruction and education on technical skills development and coaching / managing the kids as well as understanding the benefits of the training approach that Kickstart provides.
Parents/Coaches will be used as the participant children, rather than “spectators” so it will be highly interactive.
A selection of photos from the two grading days, and the Welcome to the Club day, and the Welcome back Training Day, is now available. The days were both very hot, a big change to the last few years of torrential rain and wind.
The days could not be run without the work done by the Committee, Luiz and the team at Kickstart, and of course the parents who shuttle the kids to the venue. If you're wondering just who is this elusive Committee that is mentioned every now and again, then we now have mugshots of them all! Want to know who your age coordinators are? We have mugshots of them too.
If you, as a parent, would like any photo removed, please contact the website coordinator on our Contact page.
Registrations open but filling up fast!
Registrations are to be completed online via the MyFootballClub website. This website can also be accessed via our registration page.. The MyFootballClub system allows players to register and pay individually online. For all other methods of payment you will still need to register via MyFootballClub and select manual payment. You are also able to add on additional items at the end of your registration such as shorts, socks and shinpads, the Club supplies team shirts. Just keep the receipt so we can fulfill your order.
You can still register all the way up to the start of the season, but if you miss our grading days (U9-U13 only) then the club cannot guarantee a place in a team or if we can it will only be where we can fit you.
Grading Day 2

9:00am to 1:30pm, Ku-ring-gai Hockey Centre, Ku-ring-gai High School, Bobbin Head Rd:
The grading will be on the All Weather Hockey field, so please do NOT wear boots. Please also ensure your child is wearing shin pads so to avoid injury. Unfortunately if your child is not wearing shin pads they are unable to participate. This is purely for safety reasons. Shin pads can be purchased at the ground.
NB: There will be a BBQ, Raffles, and The Rovers Barista who will be serving coffee, tea and hot chocolate. So please bring along some money.
Purchased gear can also be collected (just bring your receipt) or bought on the day.
Only in extreme weather conditions will the grading be cancelled, so please assume if you don’t hear from the Club, then grading is ON.
Further information about the grading can be found under grading.
INTRO TO THE CLUB MINI DAY(U6) and WELCOME BACK (U7/8)
This Sunday 15th February 2015, From 9.30am - 1pm, Ku-ring-gai Hockey Centre, Ku-ring-gai High School, Bobbin Head Rd
Please note: Because the U6-U8’s will be on the grass area adjacent to the hockey field then YES they can wear boots if they want but shin pads are MANDATORY. No shin pads means they can’t participate. This is for safety reasons only. If you have indicated a willingness to be a coach when you registered we will be calling you out on the day to help run the drills. You will be provided instruction by Kickstart (who run our Thursday regular training), and there will be committee members around to assist. If no coach is available on the day then the club does expect that a parent or parents will put their hand up to help the kids through the drills. No parent helper means the kids will not be able to participate.
We will be calling out names and sorting the kids into teams, which we hope is close to if not the final team they will be playing with for the season. So PLEASE ensure you arrive on time as late arrivals can be disruptive and it is extremely difficult to find a team once the drills have started and you have up to 50 kids running around.
The age-coordinators will be there should you need to talk to them.
Support our Club - and Donate your old soccer boots and old BCRFC shorts
During our Grading Day we will be collecting your old soccer boots and then re-selling them for $10. So - donate your boots that no longer fit, find a size that fits for $10! 2nd hand BCRFC Soccer shorts donations will also be accepted and then on-sold for $5. We have teamed up with the charity Shoes for Planet Earth and any boots that don't get purchased will be donated to Shoes for Planet Earth who will then distribute them to those less fortunate so that they continue to play the sport they love. You can find more information on the charity at www.shoesforplanetearth.com. Please make sure they are still in good condition, brushed clean and tied together. Shoes for Planet Earth will then distribute.
Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday,
Geoff Harvey - BCRFC President
