Kirsty Pearce reveals that her team, U8 Jones, had a 'Team Strategy Meeting' at the Pymble Hotel last week. It was a nice idea that other teams may wish to consider copying. Whilst it was good fun, there was actually no strategy discussed whatsoever. Rather, it was lovely to catch up with all the parents who we normallly can't chat with due to little rug rats around our feet. Also good opportunity to discuss cricket teams or more importantly Summer Soccer teams for the up coming season.
We had over 100 participants in the QuickSelect event on the Photo Day. Overall 19 participants made the door, with a 50/50 split between male and females participants. Lots of fun was had by all the participants, with many of them being mums and dads.
QuickSelect's charity partner Seeing Eye Dogs also handed out wrist bands for the children and their black labrador "Ozzie" was there for all to see and pat. When it was Ozzie's turn to walk somebody through the door blindfolded he was an absolute star successfully walking through the door on both attempts.
Prizes and Winners
We will be in contact with the prize winners to arrange collection.
The annual Photo Day has come and gone - thank you to all teams, coaches and managers for organising your team to be there on time.
The day would not have been possible without the efforts of the committee and volunteers, and two members in particular. Katie Hislop - who was on site from 6:45am to 5pm, and Marion Bell who was there almost as long. Thank you guys!
A big thanks to our sponsor QuickSelect for providing the entertainment, and the senior teams for some inspired match play.
The cast, in order of appearance, was:
UPDATED JULY 18: The schedule has been updated. The update affects U7 Wilkshire, U8 Jones, U18A, W30 and M45.

Along with the cake stall and BBQ one of our key sponsors, QuickSelect, is running an activity for us at Photo Day:
TAKE THE QUICKSELECT CHALLENGE: SIMPLY WALK IN A STRAIGHT LINE BLINDFOLDED AND SCORE AN ANDROID TABLET.
As part of Photo Day, and to celebrate its relationship with Seeing Eye Dogs Australia, QuickSelect are offering you the chance to win one of two Android tablets.
All you have to do is walk in a straight line blindfolded and reach the Quickselect door….it’s that simple…….or is it?!
To enter, all you have to do is sign up on the day (children will need a parent to sign a simple consent form). All successful competitors will then go into a draw for the chance to win. The competition will run from 9 to 2 on the day and will be filmed.
You’ll also meet the amazing ‘Biscuit’, a seeing eye dog and his handler, who’ll show you just how easy it is!
See you there!
Just a friendly reminder that the Kickstart Co-operative training resumes tomorrow (Thursday July 10), same times, same place.
If you see a bloke walking around crying that will be Luiz dealing with the Brazil loss this morning, so be gentle with him. :)
UPDATED JULY 18: U7 Wilkshire, U8 Jones, U18A, W30 and M45 have new times.
Photo Day is Saturday 19 July at BANNOCKBURN OVAL, and the schedule has now been released. Here 'tis:
This is a major fundraiser for the club with the photography company reimbursing a percentage of purchased photo proceeds to the club. We are also running a BBQ and a cake stall throughout the day.
We are looking for support with the cake stall, so could you please email Marion Bell on email@example.com if you are happy to bake.
There is no Co-operative Football Training this week. But there should be plenty of football on television and the net to keep you all occupied. Training resumes next week (10 July, during school holidays) and a game on Saturday (12 July).
Some teams are organising impromptu fun sessions at a variety of venues. There is only so much Minecraft that can be done without needing to get some fresh (and crisp) winter air. Contact your team mates and organise a session!
Join us for another Bannockburn Rovers club night at Pymble Hotel to celebrate the 2014 World Cup.
Book your babysitter now!
See you there,
Rainfall in May was well below average, with Sydney Observatory Hill recording just 23% of its historical average, the driest May since 2008. So we should be glad it has rained. But will training at Bannockburn Oval be on? As at 2pm today, the answer is YES.
Late announcements might appear on the council website.
More than 30 mums attended the Soccer Mums Night Out on June 3rd at the Pymble Hotel. A good night was had by all, with many new acquaintances being made.
